Louisiana Scholarship Recipients Attend the 2015 Jump$tart National Educator Conference in National Harbor, Maryland

Jump$tart national Conference attendees

The Louisiana Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy awarded two full scholarships for attendance at the Jump$tart National Educator Conference held November 6-8 in National Harbor, Maryland.

The two Louisiana educator recipients were Marcia Lee, an accounting teacher, internship coordinator and DECA adviser at Baton Rouge Magnet High School, and Shelagh Quigley, a financial math and pre-calculus teacher at Starks High School and Vinton High School in Calcasieu Parish.

The conference offered classroom educators an opportunity to see, learn about, and try educational resources that can be integrated immediately into current lesson plans; to attend informative workshops under two different strands—curriculum/content and personal growth; to meet with leaders from finance and education; and to network with colleagues from across the country.

We celebrate you Marcia and Shelagh for all you do to advance financial education for students in our state.
