Individual Financial Counseling Sessions

Pre-Conference  Saturday, November 5 – 12:30-4:00 p.m.

Post-Conference  Monday, November 7 – 12:00-2:30 p.m.

The Financial Counseling Clinic is an opportunity for you to pose your own specific financial questions to highly-qualified Accredited Financial Counselors (AFC®), who are volunteering their time and expertise to provide you with unbiased financial planning information.

Thanks to Jump$tart Partner, the Association for Financial Counseling and Financial Planning Education, these private consultations are provided at absolutely no cost to you. Further, the volunteer AFC professionals are not allowed to sell products or services or solicit further business from you in any way. In other words, there are no strings attached! Your spouse or domestic partner may participate in the consultation, even if not registered to attend the rest of the conference as a participant or guest.

Only Two Steps to Participate

  1. When you register for the Jump$tart National Educator Conference, just indicate your interest in attending the Clinic. We will arrange a 20-minute appointment for you to meet privately with an AFC professional.  We'll confirm the time and location of your appointment by e-mail, before you arrive in Dallas.
  2. To make the best use of your appointment time, make a list of the questions you want answered. You may want to bring relevant financial documents related to your questions.

W!SE Certification in Personal Finance (CPF) Test for Teachers

Saturday, November 5  12:30-3:30 p.m.

Another Jump$tart Partner, Working in Support of Education (W!SE), will also offer teachers the unique opportunity to earn a Certification in Personal Finance by taking and passing the W!SE CPF Test. The Certification in Personal Finance supports teacher capacity-building and demonstrates a strong knowledge of personal finance.

To take the W!SE CFP Test, please indicate your interest when you register for the Jump$tart National Educator Conference. A W!SE representative will contact you, as there is a separate registration and fee ($50) to take the test.  Once registered, you will be sent the W!SE CFP Study Manual, which includes all the topics you will need to review in your self-guided preparation for the test.

All teachers who take the W!SE CPF Test at the Jump$tart NEC will be entered into a raffle for a FREE Fitbit! Please contact Jonathan Sands at W!SE Turn on JavaScript! for more information.

National Teachers Lounge

Sunday, November 6 – 7:30-9:30 p.m.

So, if you don’t have other plans, join us in the “teachers’ lounge” in the Crystal Ballroom Foyer right after the Jump$tart Roundup. We’ll have coffee, tea and some of the best financial education colleagues you never knew you had.
